How to integrate Wiza with Zoho CRM

Sync your Wiza contacts to Zoho CRM as Contacts or Leads

Written by Justyn

This article will show you everything you need to know to integrate Wiza with Zoho CRM.

In this article:

Connecting your Zoho Account

1. Click Integrate

2. Click Connect under Zoho CRM

3. Log in to Zoho and authorize access. Once connected, Zoho will appear as connected on your Integrations page.

Field Mapping

Click Configure to customize how your Wiza data is imported into your Zoho account.

  • Choose your primary object type: contacts saved on Wiza sync to Zoho as either Contacts or Leads, with associated Account info.

  • To change an existing field mapping, select the field you'd like to change and choose an alternative.

  • To map a new field, select Map new field, and select the Wiza and Zoho fields to map.

If there is a Wiza field that you would like to import but cannot find an applicable Zoho field, please consult your Zoho admin about creating a custom field.

Custom Field Mapping

You can create custom Wiza fields. Let's say that you have a Zoho field called "Lead Source" that you would like to populate with the value "Wiza" for all of the contacts you import.

To do this:

  1. At the bottom, click Map new field

  2. Select Custom from the Wiza Field dropdown

  3. Select the Zoho field you would like to map to, in this case, 'Lead Source.'

  4. On the right, select 'Set' and enter Wiza

  5. Select Save changes

Now, every contact that you import from Wiza will include the value 'Wiza' within your Zoho Lead Source field. This makes filtering your existing Zoho database for contacts created by Wiza very easy.

Syncing your data

To sync your list:

  1. To sync a list: Go to Lists and click "Sync Contacts", then select a segment.

'Valid' includes emails that have been verified for deliverability. These emails are 97% deliverable.

'Risky' = emails that Wiza couldn't verify for deliverability. These are always free and do not use email credits.

To learn more about valid and risky emails, click here.

  2. If you would like to sync only a select few people, open your list and click on Sync next to each contact.

Settings

Once your Wiza account is connected to Zoho, you can configure how data is created, updated, and synced between both platforms. The Settings tab allows you to control system-wide rules for Contact, Lead, and Account mappings.

Apply Settings to All Users

You can choose to apply your Zoho settings across all users in your account.

  • When enabled, every user in your Wiza account will automatically follow the same Zoho sync settings and mappings.

  • This ensures consistency in how Contacts, Leads, and Accounts are managed.

Primary Object Type

  • Wiza creates contacts using the primary object type defined here — either Contact or Lead.

  • This determines how Zoho stores new records from Wiza.

Updating Existing Records

  • Toggle Update duplicates regardless of ownership if you want Wiza to update records owned by other Zoho users.

  • Zoho rules and permissions still apply, so updates will only succeed if allowed by your CRM configuration.

Account Configuration

You can control how Wiza handles Account records in Zoho:

  • Create new accounts – Automatically create new Account records when exporting new leads.

  • Update existing accounts – Keep Account records current by syncing updates from Wiza.

Note: Updates may be limited by your Zoho rules and permissions.

Contact Configuration

Determine how Contacts are associated with Accounts:

  • Associate contacts with accounts – Links new or updated Contacts to their Accounts.

  • Override existing account – If enabled, Wiza will replace a Contact's current Account with updated Account data.

Troubleshooting

  1. A Contact/Lead is created, but a field is still blank

    • Depending on the field, there may not be a value available. To find out, download your list results to see if there is a value for that contact. To see how to download your list, see this article.

    • Make sure you are mapping to that Zoho field in your Wiza field mapping settings, see above.

    • Make sure you have permission to view and edit that Zoho field. In Zoho, check your profile permissions for the relevant module (Contacts, Leads, or Accounts).

    • Make sure the value is accepted by Zoho. Zoho fields have specific types (text, number, picklist, date, etc.), and the value provided by Wiza must be valid for that field type. For picklist fields, the value provided by Wiza must already exist as an option.

  2. A Contact already exists in Zoho, but the fields are not being updated

    • If Wiza finds an existing matching Contact, Wiza will add/update the value of the mapped fields under the following conditions:

    • Confirm that Update duplicates regardless of ownership is enabled in your Zoho integration settings, see above.

    • If the field already has a value, Wiza will only overwrite the existing value if the Overwrite checkbox is enabled for that specific field mapping. If not, the existing value in Zoho will remain.

  3. A Contact and Account are created/updated but they are not being associated with each other

    • Make sure Associate contacts with accounts is enabled in your Wiza Zoho settings, see above.

    • If you also want updated Account data to replace an existing association, enable Override existing account.

  4. Records are being created in the wrong place (Lead vs. Contact)

    • Check the Primary Object Type in your Zoho settings, see above.

    • Also verify that your Zoho permissions allow creates and updates for the selected module.

  5. The Zoho integration card shows a "Broken" status

    • This usually means the OAuth authorization expired or was revoked in Zoho.

    • Click Fix now on the Zoho card to reconnect, then retry your sync.
