What Wiza + Attio Does

Attio is a native CRM integration that Wiza supports. It lets users push enriched contacts from Wiza into Attio as People and Companies, keep records updated, and jump directly to synced records in Attio — all without leaving Wiza.

Key things to know about how Attio works in Wiza:

  • Wiza syncs to both People and Company records in Attio, and can associate the two automatically

  • Users can make Attio the Primary sync destination so sync actions default there

  • Attio sync works in both list workflows and Prospect workflows

  • Once synced, users can open the record directly in Attio using View in Attio

  • Users can also link to an existing Attio record instead of creating a new one

  • If the connection breaks, Wiza surfaces a Broken state with a Fix now path

How to Set It Up

  1. Go to Integrate in Wiza and find Attio

  2. Click Connect — an Attio login/authorization pop-up will open

  3. After authorizing, the OAuth window closes automatically and Attio appears as connected on the Integrations page

  4. Note: If Attio's authorization expires or otherwise fails, the Attio card on the Integrations page is marked as Broken. Click Fix now to reconnect.

  5. Click Configure on the Attio card to open field mapping and settings

  6. Review and adjust field mappings (Wiza field → Attio attributes) for both People and Companies, and save your mapping

  7. (Optional) Toggle Primary on Attio if you want it to be your team's default sync destination

Note: If your workspace has integration management restrictions enabled, only admins can connect or configure integrations. Have your Attio login ready before starting.

Key Settings Users Should Know

  • Company create/update behavior — control whether Wiza creates or updates associated Company records in Attio

  • Person-company association — control whether contacts are linked to Companies and whether existing associations are overridden

  • Field mapping — map Wiza fields to Attio attributes for both People and Companies, set overwrite behavior per field, set default values, and reset mappings to Wiza defaults at any time

  • Extension field display — in the LinkedIn extension, users can configure which Attio attributes are shown in the contact card, control field order (drag/drop), with a maximum of 10 displayed fields

  • Apply settings to all users — admins and managers can enforce one mapping and settings standard across the whole account

How Record Matching Works

When syncing, Wiza looks for an existing Attio record before creating a new one. It checks in this order:

  1. Existing CRM object ID (if the contact is already linked)

  2. Email

  3. Name + company

  4. Optional name-only fallback in some linking flows

If a match is found, Wiza updates it. If no match is found, Wiza creates a new Person record (and Company, if company sync is enabled) in Attio.

Day-to-Day Sync Experience

From people tables, cards, and Prospect workflows, users will see:

  • Sync to Attio or View in Attio — depending on whether a CRM record is already linked

  • Add as Person — when no existing CRM link exists

  • Relink or Unlink Contact — when a record needs to be corrected

  • Link to existing record — search for and link to an existing Attio record instead of creating a new one

After sync, users see success/failure toasts and can open detailed sync results showing created / updated / skipped / error counts in plain language.

Sequencing with Attio: Attio handles the CRM side. Sequencing/cadences still come from Outreach or Salesloft. If sequencing permissions are missing, the UI prompts to reconnect the sequencing integration first.

Support Troubleshooting Checklist

1) Confirm Attio is connected and healthy

  • Go to Integrations and verify Attio is connected

  • If the card shows Broken, use Fix now to reconnect

  • If "Connect" is disabled with an admin warning, check account integration restriction settings

2) Confirm user permissions

  • If the user cannot connect/configure/disconnect Attio, check whether the account has "restrict integrations to admins" enabled

  • If restricted, an admin will need to connect/configure, or temporarily allow users to manage integrations

  • Note: broken integration repair via Fix now is always available even in restricted mode

3) Confirm Attio is set as Primary (if expected)

  • If sync seems to be going elsewhere, check the Primary toggle on the Integrations page

4) Check mapping and settings save state

  • Open Attio Configure and verify recent changes were saved — users are warned on unsaved changes

  • If mappings are messy or uncertain, use Reset all mappings, then re-save and retest with 1 contact

5) Check field mapping basics

  • Ensure important Attio destination attributes are mapped for both People and Companies

  • Confirm overwrite and default behavior on key fields

  • Re-test with 1 contact after any mapping changes

6) Check company behavior settings

  • If Company records are missing or not updated, verify the Company Create and Update checkboxes

  • If person-company links are wrong or missing, verify "Associate People with Companies" is enabled and check the override behavior setting

7) Check for enforced admin template

  • If users cannot change settings or mappings, they may be locked by an account-level admin template

  • The UI will indicate who is enforcing the settings

8) Run a single-contact validation

  • Sync one known contact and watch the result toast

  • Open sync task details to inspect create/update/skip/error counts

  • Use "View in Attio" to verify the final record

9) If a sync error appears

  • Capture the exact message from the toast or sync panel

  • Check the Attio card on the Integrations page — if it's marked Broken, the OAuth connection was lost. Click Fix now to reconnect, then retry

  • Common causes: expired Attio authorization, missing Attio permissions, attribute mismatch or invalid value for a mapped field

10) For "Link to existing record" issues

  • Use at least 3+ characters in the search field (or press Enter to force search)

  • Select the correct result and link

  • If an incorrect auto-match happened, use Relink or Unlink Contact and relink manually

11) Escalate with evidence if still failing — include:

  • Workspace/account and user role

  • Whether integrations are admin-restricted

  • Attio card status (valid/broken)

  • Whether Primary integration is set

  • Screenshot or text of exact sync error

  • Whether the issue is list sync vs. one-off Prospect sync

  • Example contact/list and timestamp

FAQ

Q: What does Wiza's Attio integration do?
A: It lets users push enriched contacts from Wiza into Attio as People and Companies, map fields, control how updates are handled, and view synced records directly in Attio.

Q: Does Wiza sync People, Companies, or both?
A: Both. Wiza syncs People records and can also create or update the associated Company record at the same time.

Q: Can users choose whether to update existing records?
A: Yes — there is a setting to update existing records, including those owned by other users (subject to Attio permissions).

Q: Can I map Wiza fields to Attio attributes?
A: Yes — Attio supports full mapping controls for both People and Companies, including defaults, overwrite rules, and reset-to-default mappings.

Q: Can I link to existing Attio records instead of creating duplicates?
A: Yes — use "Link to existing record" and pick the correct existing record from the search results.

Q: Can I open the synced person directly in Attio?
A: Yes — "View in Attio" deep-links to the correct record in Attio.

Q: Why can't I edit integration settings?
A: Usually one of two reasons: account integration management is restricted to admins, or an admin template is enforcing settings for everyone on the account.

Q: What does "Broken" mean on the Attio integration card?
A: The connection is no longer valid and needs to be repaired — usually because the OAuth authorization expired or was revoked. Click Fix now to reconnect.

Q: I'm not an admin and can't connect Attio. Is that expected?
A: Yes, if integration management is restricted to admins on your account. However, you can still fix a broken integration using the Fix now flow.

Q: How do I verify if a contact actually synced?
A: Use the sync status UI after syncing, then click View in Attio to open the exact CRM record.

Q: Why did sync say success but I still don't see expected updates?
A: Check sync report details (created/updated/skipped/errors), verify field mappings for both People and Companies, and check person-company association settings.

Q: Can we enforce one Attio mapping for the whole team?
A: Yes — admins and managers can apply settings and field mappings account-wide from the Attio configuration page.
