How to integrate Wiza with Attio

Sync your Wiza contacts to Attio as People and Companies

Written by Mary Ma

This article will show you everything you need to know to integrate Wiza with Attio.

In this article:

Connecting your Attio Account

1. Click Integrate

2. Click Connect under Attio

3. Log in to Attio and authorize access. The OAuth window closes automatically once complete, and Attio will appear as connected on your Integrations page.

Field Mapping

Click Configure to customize how your Wiza data is imported into your Attio account.

  • Contacts saved on Wiza sync to Attio as People with associated Company info.

  • To change an existing field mapping, select the field you'd like to change and choose an alternative.

  • To map a new field, select Map new field, and select the Wiza and Attio fields to map.

If there is a Wiza field that you would like to import but cannot find an applicable Attio attribute, please consult your Attio admin about creating a custom attribute.

Custom Field Mapping

You can create custom Wiza fields. Let's say that you have an Attio attribute called "Source" that you would like to populate with the value "Wiza" for all of the contacts you import.

To do this:

  1. At the bottom, click Map new field

  2. Select Custom from the Wiza Field dropdown

  3. Select the Attio attribute you would like to map to, in this case, 'Source.'

  4. On the right, select 'Set' and enter Wiza

  5. Select Save changes

Now, every contact that you import from Wiza will include the value 'Wiza' within your Attio Source attribute. This makes filtering your existing Attio database for contacts created by Wiza very easy.

Syncing your data

To sync your list:

  1. To sync a list: Go to Lists and click "Sync Contacts", then select a segment.

'Valid' includes emails that have been verified for deliverability. These emails are 97% deliverable.

'Risky' = emails that Wiza couldn't verify for deliverability. These are always free and do not use email credits.

To learn more about valid and risky emails, click here.

  2. If you would like to sync only a select few people, open your list and click on Sync next to each contact.

Settings

Once your Wiza account is connected to Attio, you can configure how data is created, updated, and synced between both platforms. The Settings tab allows you to control system-wide rules for People and Company mappings.

Apply Settings to All Users

You can choose to apply your Attio settings across all users in your account.

  • When enabled, every user in your Wiza account will automatically follow the same Attio sync settings and mappings.

  • This ensures consistency in how People and Companies are managed.

Updating Existing Records

  • Toggle Update existing contacts regardless of ownership if you want Wiza to update records owned by other Attio users.

  • Attio rules and permissions still apply, so updates will only succeed if allowed by your CRM configuration.

Company Configuration

You can control how Wiza handles Company records in Attio:

  • Create new companies – Automatically create new Company records when exporting new leads.

  • Update existing companies – Keep Company records current by syncing updates from Wiza.

Note: Updates may be limited by your Attio rules and permissions.

Contact Configuration

Determine how People are associated with Companies:

  • Associate contacts with companies – Links new or updated People to their Companies.

  • Override existing company – If enabled, Wiza will replace a Person's current Company with updated Company data.

Troubleshooting

  1. A Person/Company is created, but an attribute is still blank

    • Depending on the attribute, there may not be a value available. To find out, download your list results to see if there is a value for that contact. To see how to download your list, see this article.

    • Make sure you are mapping to that Attio attribute in your Wiza field mapping settings, see above.

    • Make sure you have permission to view and edit that Attio attribute. In Attio, check your workspace member permissions for the relevant object.

    • Make sure the value is accepted by Attio. Attio attributes have specific types (text, number, select, date, etc.), and the value provided by Wiza must be valid for that attribute type. For select attributes, the value provided by Wiza must already exist as an option.

  2. A Person already exists in Attio, but the attributes are not being updated

    • If Wiza finds an existing matching Person, Wiza will add/update the value of the mapped attributes under the following conditions:

    • If the attribute has no value, Wiza will update it.

    • If the attribute already has a value, Wiza will only overwrite the existing value if the Overwrite checkbox is enabled for that specific field mapping. If not, the existing value in Attio will remain.

  3. A Person and Company are created/updated but they are not being associated with each other

    • Make sure Associate People with Companies is enabled in your Wiza Attio settings, see above.

    • If you also want updated Company data to replace an existing association, enable Override existing company.

  4. The Attio integration card shows a "Broken" status

    • This usually means the OAuth authorization expired or was revoked in Attio.

    • Click Fix now on the Attio card to reconnect, then retry your sync.
