Automations keep a list fresh by re-running enrichment on a schedule, and can act on what changed — syncing contacts to your CRM, adding them to a sequence, or notifying you when people change jobs or companies.
What automations can do
Each automation refreshes the list's data on a schedule you choose. After each refresh, you can add any of these actions:
Sync contacts to your CRM
Add contacts to a sequence
Get a Slack notification about job title or company changes
Get an email notification about job title or company changes
Actions are optional — you can also schedule a refresh on its own.
Where to find automations
From your Lists page, open a list's actions menu and choose Automations (the lightning bolt). Lists that already have automations show a count next to the option.
You can also set up automations while creating a new list (on the Launch step), and see every automation across your lists — with next and last run dates — under Settings → Automations.
Automations are available on people lists. Company lists don't support them yet.
Schedule options
Run every 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days.
Pick the date of the first run — as soon as today, or any date in the future. After that, runs follow your chosen cadence.
Use the Active toggle to pause an automation without deleting it.
A list can have more than one automation, each with its own schedule and actions.
Sync to CRM
Choose one of your connected CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Pipedrive, Zoho, Salesloft, or Creatio) and which contacts to sync after each refresh:
Valid Emails
Found Emails (Valid + Risky)
Found Phones — available on lists that include phone enrichment
All
Add to sequence
If you use a sequencing tool (like Outreach or Salesloft), you can add the synced contacts to a specific sequence, campaign, or cadence. This action works together with Sync to CRM, so it's available once a CRM sync is part of the same automation. If you sequence with Outreach, you'll also choose the mailbox emails are sent from.
Notifications
Choose whether to be notified about job title changes, company changes, or both. Slack notifications go to a channel you pick (you can connect Slack right from the automation setup), and email notifications go to your Wiza account email. Both include the changes found and a link to the affected contacts in your list.
You'll hear from the automation after every run — if nothing changed, the notification says so, so you know the check happened.
Credits
Each refresh uses credits, just like enriching the list:
1 email credit per contact with a valid email. Risky emails are always free.
1 phone credit per contact with a phone number, on lists that include phone enrichment.
On plans with export credits, each refresh uses 1 export credit per contact instead of an email credit (plus 1 phone credit per contact with a phone number, on lists that include phone enrichment).
If your account doesn't have enough credits when a run is due, that run is skipped and you'll get an email letting you know. The automation stays active and tries again at the next scheduled interval.
Good to know
AI Research columns aren't re-run by automations — refreshes update contact data like emails, phones, job titles, and companies.
Actions rely on your connected integrations. If a CRM or Slack connection expires, reconnect it from the Integrations page so those actions keep running.
