How to Close Your Wiza Account

How to permanently close your Wiza account: what to do first, step-by-step closure instructions, team account scenarios, and what happens to your data and credits.

If you'd like to permanently close your Wiza account, you can do so directly from your account settings. This article covers where to find the option, what to expect, and important things to consider before closing.

⚠️ Closing your account is permanent. Your data, lists, and credits cannot be recovered after your account is closed. Make sure to export anything you need before proceeding.


Before You Close Your Account

Before closing, we recommend taking care of a few things:

  • Export your lists — Download any enriched contact or company lists you want to keep. Once the account is closed, these cannot be retrieved.

  • Cancel any active subscription — If you're on a paid plan, make sure to cancel your subscription first to avoid future charges. You can do this in Settings → Billing.

  • Transfer or remove teammates (Team accounts) — If you're the admin of a team, you'll need to either transfer admin ownership to another member or remove all teammates before closing.

  • Note any remaining credits — Unused credits are not refunded or transferable when an account is closed.


How to Close Your Account

  1. Log in to Wiza and go to Settings.

  2. Click on the Profile tab.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Close Account option.

  4. A confirmation prompt will appear. You'll be asked to type your email address and confirm that you understand the account closure is permanent.

  5. Once confirmed, your account will be closed immediately.

💡 Don't see the Close Account option? This option is only available under certain account conditions. If it's not visible in your Profile settings, click the chat icon in the bottom right and our support team can help.


Closing a Team Account

If you're part of a Wiza team, there are a few extra steps depending on your role:

  • If you're a team member (non-admin): You can leave the team from Settings → Account → Leave Team before closing your individual account. You'll have the option to transfer your lists and data to a teammate, or acknowledge that your data will be permanently deleted.

  • If you're the only admin: You'll need to either assign admin rights to another teammate first, or remove all teammates from the team before you can close the account.

  • If you have no teammates to transfer to: You'll be prompted to confirm that your data will be permanently lost before proceeding.


What Happens After You Close Your Account

  • Your account and all associated data — including lists, enrichment history, and settings — are permanently deleted.

  • Any unused credits are forfeited and cannot be refunded or moved to another account.

  • Your login email will be released and can be used to create a new Wiza account in the future if needed.

  • If you had an active subscription, make sure it was cancelled prior to closing to avoid any additional charges.
