Why did my LinkedIn export contain fewer people than expected?

Troubleshooting enriched lists that are smaller than expected.

A Wiza list can contain fewer people than the number shown by LinkedIn. To diagnose and retry, compare the source, selection, and list settings below.

First, identify which count is different

  • LinkedIn result count: the total number LinkedIn reports for the search or list.

  • Selected count: the people saved in the Wiza side panel when you select specific contacts.

  • Configured maximum: the largest number Wiza is set to process for the list.

  • Completed list count: the rows Wiza created after processing.

A missing email or phone number affects the data found for a contact row; it is not always the reason a person is missing from the list.

1. Check the configured maximum

Open the Wiza list setup or source summary and compare the maximum contacts with the LinkedIn result count. If the maximum was lower, Wiza stops at that number.

2. Check whether you created the list from selected contacts

When contacts are selected in the Wiza side panel, Wiza creates the list from that saved selection. Open View selected before selecting Create list to confirm the people included.

3. Check LinkedIn’s available-page limit

Sales Navigator standard people searches normally expose up to 100 pages, or 2,500 people. Searches using Connections of expose up to 40 pages, or normally 1,000 people. Recruiter and Sales Navigator company searches also use a 40-page limit.

Wiza cannot include results beyond the pages LinkedIn makes available. For a larger Sales Navigator people search, see Export a Sales Navigator search with more than 2,500 results.

4. Check Skip duplicates

When Skip duplicates is enabled, Wiza skips contacts already present in the selected folder. The check is folder-specific, so a contact in a different folder may still be included.

If you split one search into several lists, save the lists in the same folder and keep Skip duplicates on to reduce overlap between segments.

5. Check whether every LinkedIn page loaded

LinkedIn can stop or delay a results page. Keep the LinkedIn tab open while Wiza prepares a supported multi-page source. If the side panel reports an error or stops early, return to the first results page, refresh LinkedIn, and try again.

6. Check incomplete profile data

A profile with no listed company can still be included, but the completed row may have fewer company fields. A profile that LinkedIn no longer makes available, or that cannot be read from the source page, may not be added.

If the difference is still unexplained

Send Wiza Support:

  • The LinkedIn search, list, or project URL

  • The Wiza list URL

  • The LinkedIn result count

  • The Wiza selected count, if you selected contacts

  • The configured maximum

  • The completed list count

  • A screenshot of any side-panel error

Do not delete the Wiza list before Wiza Support reviews it; the list and source details can help with diagnosis.
